Privacy
In short: your yard records live on your own devices. We do not hold them and cannot read them. The only thing we keep is an email address, and only if you ask us to.

Who processes anything
Steedshire is made by Rob Giesbers. Questions about this statement or about your data go to hallo@steedshire.nl.
What lives on your own device
Everything you enter in the app sits in the app's storage on your phone or tablet: horses, owners, stalls, care, tasks, documents, invoices and your yard's details. Your yard's keys live in the device keychain. We have no access to any of it. Delete the app and that data is gone from that device.
What travels over our server
If you work with more than one device, those devices exchange their changes through a relay of ours at relay.steedshire.nl. What passes through is encrypted with a key that exists only on your devices and that you pass on yourself to whoever you invite. The relay stores those packets and hands them on, but cannot open them.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A code you choose for your workspace | So we know which yard a packet belongs to |
| A number per device | To tell changes from different devices apart |
| A sequence number and a timestamp | To work out what happened last |
| The encrypted packet itself | That is the change, unreadable to us |
So no names of horses, owners or appointments sit on our server. If you choose a workspace code that itself contains a name, that name is of course visible; pick something neutral in that case.
If you use the app on one device and never synchronise, nothing reaches our server at all.
What we do not do
- No analytics, no ad networks, no visitor statistics in the app.
- No profiles and no reselling. There is nobody to resell to.
- No account with us. You need no email address or password to use the app. The sign-up list below is separate from that and entirely voluntary.
- No third-party components in the app. It talks to nothing except the relay above.
If you sign up to hear about the launch
If you leave your email address on the home page, we keep that address, the language of that page and the moment you entered it. Nothing else: no name, no IP address, no browsing behaviour.
We use it for one thing: telling you when the app is in the App Store. After that the list has no purpose and is deleted. No newsletter, no reselling, no advertising.
The basis is your own consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time: email hallo@steedshire.nl and your address comes off straight away. You do not need to give a reason.
The list sits on our own server in the Netherlands, in a plain text file only we can read. No other party is involved.
Paying
A subscription runs through your Apple account. Apple handles the payment and we see no payment details. Apple tells us that a subscription is running, not who you are. You cancel it yourself in your Apple account settings.
How long anything is kept
The encrypted packets on the relay stay as long as your yard is in use, because a device that has been switched off for a while still needs to collect them. If you want them gone, email the address above with your workspace code and we will remove that workspace. The records on your own devices keep working.
Your rights
You may see, correct and delete what is processed about you. For your yard records you do not need us for that: they are on your device, you can change them in the app, and Take your data writes them all out to a file in one go. For the encrypted packets on our server, see the paragraph above.
If we cannot resolve something together, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
If this statement changes
The date at the top changes with it. If something material changes, for instance if data were to reach us after all, you read that in the app first and not here afterwards.
